Delivery & access

Based near Masterton, Firewood & Chip NZ delivers across Wairarapa and the Wellington region. Eligible rural addresses, including Kāpiti, may be served when the one-way road route is within 180 km and truck access is suitable.

Delivery pricing and range

Delivery is free for eligible addresses within the first 10 km of road-driving distance from our Masterton depot. Beyond 10 km, delivery is charged at $2.65 per additional kilometre. The final delivery charge is calculated at checkout.

The maximum one-way delivery distance is 180 km. Delivery outside this limit is unavailable. A rural postcode alone does not guarantee coverage; the road route and vehicle access must also be suitable.

Delivery order limits

  • Wairarapa: 2 m³ minimum and 6 m³ maximum through standard delivery checkout.
  • Wellington region: exactly 6 m³ for Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wellington and Porirua.
  • Other eligible delivery areas: exactly 6 m³, including eligible rural locations and Kāpiti.
  • All six firewood products and mixes count together toward the total. Unrelated products do not count toward firewood volume.
  • Delivery orders above 6 m³ need a quote. Use the bulk firewood quote form; submitting it is an enquiry, not a confirmed order.

Truck size and access

The small tipper carries up to 6 m³. Larger loads need a manual quote and truck-access assessment. The larger truck needs at least 2.7 m of clear access width. Width alone does not guarantee access: height, turning room, gradients, ground conditions and unloading space must also be suitable. Contact us if you are unsure.

Delivery dates

Delivery time: Choose your preferred available delivery date and time at checkout. Deliveries are available Monday to Saturday; Sundays are unavailable. Next-day requests after 6 pm New Zealand time require manual approval. Selected slots remain subject to availability.

Firewood condition

Firewood is sold by loose cubic metre. It is freshly split, wet and unseasoned. Allow adequate drying before burning; the current range is intended for winter 2027 after seasoning. Typical piece length is approximately 300 mm. Mixed products are 50/50 blends of their named species.
